This Sunday I had the pleasure to hang out as the official photographer on the 55′ speed boat Thunderbird which was part of the classic woodies Concours d’Elegance wooden boat show in Carnelian Bay Lake Tahoe. The boat which was built in the 1940 has two V12 Allison aircraft engines each developing 1100 HP and is now owned by Foundation 36, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Nevada’s natural, cultural, and historic treasures. The yacht will now remain berthed in its original boathouse at the Thunderbird Lodge and can be viewed during tours of the estate.
